Partnership Organisations
The British Pig executive have funded BigBarn to build and administering the site in partnership with the National & British Pig Associations, and the Guild of Q Butchers.
BigBarn has been trading for 4 years specialising in developing technology to help reconnect producers of food with consumers. It has developed it’s website www.bigbarn.co.uk using mapping technology to display local information on farmers and producers. It now has over 5,000 listings countrywide and receives over 13,000 hits per day. At the same time it has been asking consumers to register their email and postcodes with the site to allow BigBarn to forward targeted, relevant food news and special offers to consumers within 20 miles of any producer’s postcode.
BigBarn has formed working partnerships with large organisations such as the NFU, the MLC, the National Trust, the RSPB, Regional Food Groups and completed website work for NFU SourceDirect and the RSPB’s Bitterns Project. BigBarn is an innovative company constantly evolving solutions to the needs of those suppliers on the BigBarn map and the users visiting the site.
